Meet Erin Goshorn MD, FAAP

Following her residency in ophthalmology at Saint Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Goshorn completed her Subspecialty Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991. She received her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 1986 and graduated with a triple major in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio in 1982.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is the only pediatric ophthalmologist in the Charlotte and Rock Hill South Carolina areas to be admitted as a Subspecialty Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She was voted by her physician peers for the “Top Doctors North Carolina” award, published in Business NC, July 2003, and also received the “Charlotte Top Doctors” award, published in Charlotte Magazine, July 2000.

Dr. Goshorn participates in the education of pediatric residents as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She holds hospital privileges at Carolinas Medical Center Main, Carolinas Medical Center University, Carolinas Medical Center Pineville, Presbyterian Hospital Main, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, and Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville in the Charlotte area.  She also holds hospital privileges at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Charlotte Pediatric Society, Charlotte Ophthalmology Society, North Carolina Medical Society, and the Mecklenburg County Medical Society.
